The Safety and Sanity of Machine Intelligence presented by Booz Allen Hamilton
Join us at the Booz Allen DC Innovation Center for an interactive discussion and reception around technologies that will change the way the world works. During the event, DC Techweek participants will show how their perceptions of technological innovation stack up against results from Booz Allen’s recent survey and have a ring-side seat for “the great debate” on the power of machine intelligence and its impacts on human life. And together, we will take steps to “stop the madness” of the cyber security risks that come with the introduction of advanced technology. Following the programming, keep the conversation going as you meet some of the leading women in the DC tech space, and explore the interactive machine intelligence and virtual and augmented reality demos in the Booz Allen Innovation Center.

Brain Health Challenge presented by AARP and Booz Allen Hamilton
Research from the Global Council on Brain Health (a collaborative from AARP) found that stimulating our brains through a variety of healthy behaviors can impact how well our brains function. These behaviors include keeping fit, learning new things, eating right, sleeping well, and being social. Their research recommends that people begin incorporating these healthy behaviors into their lifestyle as soon and as regularly as possible.

At Techweek DC, participants will have the opportunity to stimulate their brains at the Brain Health Challenge. This immersive BetaBox experience allows people to learn and do new things, including:
  • Explore various aspects of a human brain in 3D via a HoloLens and identify zones for attention, processing speed, executive function, and memory
  • Engage their cognitive functions via a 2-minuted “seated” canoe VR experience
The box will be positioned outside of event locations on Tuesday through Friday of Techweek. See schedule for details.
